The lighting you use in your living room can determine the mood of those who stay in it, as well as the comfort that it can bring to your eyes. Too bright, or too dim, can cause eye strain, and might ruin the comfortable mood. Instead of using fixed intensity for lighting, you can use adjustable ones that can be used for different purposes. In truth, there are two kinds of lighting for your living room: natural and artificial.
If youre lucky enough to have large windows, use them as your main light source in the daytime. Sheer drapes or frosted glass panes can diffuse the light and cast a soft glow around the room. Pair them with yellow area rugs or cream area rugs and you have got a bright, sunny room that doesnt use a single artificial light! Combine ambient and task lighting.
